Rice Krispies Treats Day
Rice Krispies Treats Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated on September 18th every year. It’s a day to enjoy the iconic childhood treat made with crispy rice cereal, butter, and marshmallows. The treat was invented by Malitta Jensen and Mildred Day in 1939 at the Kellogg Company. The two women created the first large-scale Rice Krispies Treats for Iowa State University’s Veishea celebration in 2001 that weighed 2,480 pounds! Celebrate Rice Krispies Treats Day by making your own treats or enjoying them with family and friends.
