Tell a Fairy Tale Day

One of our favorite holidays is on the 26th of February and is Tell a Fairy Tale Day. We love all of the classic fairy tales, and it’s so much fun to act out scenes from them together. This year, we’re going to dress up like our favorite characters and have a blast recreating some of our favorite moments from the stories. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this special day!

Choose a fairy tale to read or tell 

Today, and get transported to another world of make-believe! Whether you love the classic tales of Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty or prefer more modern stories like The Little Mermaid or Frozen, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on this special day.

So gather round the fire, make yourselves comfortable, and get ready for some enchanting tales! Who knows, you may even be inspired to create your own fairy tale by the end of the day.

Dress up like your favorite characters 

One of the best parts about Tell a Fairy Tale Day is getting to dress up like our favorite characters! Whether you want to be a graceful princess or a daring prince, there are plenty of ways to show off your creativity. Get your friends involved too and see who can come up with the most creative costume.

Have a picnic lunch

After you’ve finished telling your fairy tale, it’s time to enjoy a magical picnic lunch! Pack up some of your favorite foods and head to your nearest park or forest. Don’t forget to bring along a big blanket to sit on too.

After you’ve finished telling your fairy tale, why not act out some of the scenes? This is a great way to get everyone involved and can be lots of fun too.

Not sure what to do? Here are some ideas:

  • Rapunzel – Have someone dress up as Rapunzel and let down their hair from a high window or balcony. Then have someone else try to climb up and rescue them.
  • Sleeping Beauty – Have someone dress up as Sleeping Beauty and lay down on a bed. Then have everyone take turns trying to wake them up with a kiss.
  • Goldilocks and the Three Bears – Have someone dress up as Goldilocks and act out going into the bears’ house and eating their porridge, sitting in their chairs, and sleeping in their beds. Then have someone else dress up as the Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bear and catch Goldilocks in the act!

Whatever scenes you choose to act out, make sure to have plenty of props on hand to really bring the story to life. And don’t forget to take lots of pictures too!

Have a photo booth set up for everyone to take pictures in their costumes 

This is a great way to capture all the memories from your Tell a Fairy Tale Day celebrations. And it’s sure to be lots of fun for everyone too!
